Help children and youth of all abilities develop their potential, access opportunities and participate in their community by volunteering at Inspire Centre. At times, we require extra help to assist with various activities of the Inspire Centre.

37.5 hrs per week Permanent Full Time

Within a family-centered approach to working with families, the Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth living in the Districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming and the James Bay area .

The Occupational Therapist provides a range of services including assessment, consultation, and treatment planning to assist children and youth in achieving their optimum rehabilitation potential in the areas of activities of daily living, use of mobility equipment, fine motor, visual motor and perceptual abilities, and/or sensory motor integration. He or she also supervises therapy assistants, provides family education and engages in public awareness activities.

The Occupational Therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Speech Language Pathologists, Physiotherapists, a Social Worker/Child Family Clinician, Recreational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Coordinated Service Planners, FASD Workers and Intake Workers. He or she also functions in accordance with the policies, philosophies, mission, vision and values of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration and member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario – essential
  • Pediatric experience – asset
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license – essential
  • Superior proficiency in English (written and verbal) – essential
  • Bilingualism is an asset for 2 positions and a requirement for 1 position
  • Clear Vulnerable Persons Screening

For Moose Factory and James Bay Area

15-30 hrs per week based on service need – Permanent Part-Time

Within a family-centered approach to working with families, the Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth living in the Districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming and the James Bay area .

The Therapy Assistant assists in the provision of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech- language therapy services and supports, as required, therapeutic recreation and social work services at Inspire Centre. The Therapy Assistant provides direct intervention, implements assigned therapy interventions and supports group activities as developed by assigned therapists.

The Therapy Assistant is part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, a Social Worker/Child Family Clinician, Recreational Therapists.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in OTA/PTA/CDA-asset
  • 3 years experience working with children with special needs and a related post
  • Secondary diploma in child development will be considered
  • Pediatric experience – asset
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license – essential
  • Superior proficiency in English (written and verbal) – essential
  • Ability to speak Cree is an asset but not a requirement
  • Clear Vulnerable Persons Screening
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or a medical exemption: Any offer of employment will be conditional on the successful candidate showing proof of being fully vaccinated or showing proof of a medical exemption.

Duties:

The Program Manager is accountable and responsible to support the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of speech-language therapy services to children, youth and their families in accordance with standards, guidelines, policies, procedures, measures, strategic plan, and mission set out by the Centre.

The Program Manager is a member of the management team who supervises the clinical staff, participates in service delivery planning, strategic planning, problem solving and budgeting initiatives as appropriate . He or she functions in accordance with the policies, philosophies, mission, vision and values of the organization

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology -essential
  • Be a Member in good standing of a College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario -or eligible to become a member- essential
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision in accordance with professional regulations-essential
  • Experience in management with 3+ years experience oversight of clinical services/clinical team and or/ program development-asset
  • Advanced proficiency in English and French (written and verbal) – essential.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License-essential
  • Experience in pediatric rehabilitation and working with families -asset

The Administrative Assistant also supports the clinical staff with service planning activities and the finance department with business flows. He or she also engages in public awareness activities. The Administrative Assistant is part of a multidisciplinary team and functions in accordance with the policies, philosophies, mission, vision and values of the organization.

Requirements:

  • College Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration or at least 5 years of administrative assistant experience which includes working with videoconferencing, photocopier, scanning equipment, information database
  • Demonstrated excellence as a team member and will be well-organized, flexible, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Bilingualism is essential (high proficiency in French and English).
  • Clear vulnerable persons screen check is essential.
